Wilma Mccabe

Wilma Lou McCabe, 90, of Pekin, IL passed away at 11:37 AM Monday, February 22, 2016 in the emergency room at Pekin Hospital. Wilma was born on December 30, 1925 in Medina Township, Peoria County, Illinois to Ivy and Roberta (Williams) Sturm. She married Gene 'Chet' McCabe on November 18, 1948 in Peoria, IL. He passed away on July 30, 1998. Two brothers, Wallace and Robert Sturm precede her in death. Surviving are: three sons, Robert (Phyllis) McCabe of Glasford, IL, Thomas McCabe of Pekin and Michael (Tascha) McCabe of Pekin; two daughters, Jeannie (Billy) Olge of Glasford, IL and LuAnn (Ed) Johnson of Pekin; 12 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren. Wilma enjoyed working as a nurses aid on the pediatric floor at Methodist Hospital for thirty years. She retired in 1990. She loved spending time with all her grandchildren and working in her garden and reading. A visitation celebrating Wilma's life will be from 10:00 AM - 11:30 AM Saturday, February 27, 2016 at Henderson Funeral Home & Crematory. Inurnment will be at a later date in Chillicothe City Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children's Hospital.
