Wilma L. Kendall

Wilma L. Kendall, 93 of Pekin passed away at 2:32 pm, Friday, May 17, 2024 at Pekin Manor. She was born to Grover C. and Gertrude I. (Allen) Kendall in Pekin on April 20, 1931. She married James F. Giovanetto on December 4, 1948. She was preceded in death by; her parents; two sisters, Betty Koca and Lois Berez; and two brothers, Grover C. Kendall Jr and Donald "Deke" Kendall; and two grandchildren, John Knieriem and James Platt. Wilma is survived by; three sons, Jamie (Joanne) Giovanetto of CO, Kevin (Linda) Giovanetto of Tremont, and Ricky (Pam) Giovanetto of Tremont; four daughters, Delaine Platt of Mackinaw, Kim (Dwight Sessoms) Knieriem of Avon, IN; Trudy Thompson of Tremont, and Rebecca (Ted) Quinn of Morton; fifteen grandchildren; fourteen great-grandchildren; and several cousins. Wilma was a member of St. Johns Lutheran Church where she sang in the choir. She was very artistic and enjoyed crocheting, knitting, sewing, making jewelry, painting ceramics, making Christmas ornaments and other crafts. She loved to color. After raising seven children, Wilma went to work as an ICU Monitor Tech at Pekin Hospital. A private graveside service will be held at Glendale Memorial Gardens in Pekin. There will be no visitation. Henderson Funeral Home & Crematory has been entrusted with arrangements. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Shriners Childrens Hospital or St. Jude Childrens Research Hospital.
