Wilma J. Cummings

Wilma J. Cummings, 83, of Pekin, IL passed away at 10:25 PM Monday, February 13, 2017 at Apostolic Christian Restmor in Morton, IL. Wilma was born on July 4, 1933 in Harrisburg, AR to William Luther and Dona Dora (VanHoozer) Hampton. She married Arley Cummings on April 3, 1954 in Peoria. He preceded her in death on December 22, 2008. Also preceding in death are her parents, one infant son, two sisters and three brothers. Surviving are: three sons, Joel (Trudi) Cummings of Pekin; Randy Cummings of Largo, FL; Steven Cummings of Marquette Heights, IL; and four grandchildren, Juli Cranwill of Tremont, IL; Joshua (Kelly) Scalf of Winchester, CA; Rachelle (A.J.) Parn of Tremont; and Clayton (Carrie) Cummings of Pekin; and seven great grandchildren. Wilma was a stay at home mom and homemaker, who also often worked outside the home, including at Kroger, American Distillery, and Pekin Hospital. She then worked with her husband in their businesses, A & W Antiques and Blue Diamond Traders, both in Pekin. She was a member of the McArthur Drive Baptist Church in North Pekin and attended the Aripeka Baptist Church in Florida. She enjoyed painting, playing cards and games, dancing, and enjoyed sports of all kinds.Wilma played high school basketball and was an avid fan of the Chicago Cubs. Funeral services will be at 11:00 AM Saturday, February 18, 2017 at Henderson Funeral Home & Crematory 2131 Velde Dr., Pekin with Rev. Judy Doyle officiating. Visitation will be from 10:00 AM - 11:00 AM Saturday at the funeral home.Burial will be in Glendale Memorial Gardens immediately following the services.
