Wilma Brecher

Wilma E. Brecher, 87, of Pekin died at 12:35 pm Thursday, April 22, 2010 at Hallmark House Nursing Center. Wilma was born on February 19, 1923 in Pekin to Edward E. and Adelia (Zenor) Hayes. She married John Brecher on June 12, 1941 in Pekin. Preceding in death are her parents, one son, Gary and one sister, Helen Grant. Surviving is: her husband, John of Pekin; one daughter, Bonnie (Andrew) Kordik of Coal Valley, IL; two grandchildren, Zak and Abbe Kordik; one daughter-in-law, Cheryl Brecher of Little Valley, NY. Wilma was a member of St. Paul United Church of Christ. She was a Sunday school teacher, sang in the choir for 30 years, served on the church council and was a member of JOY Circle. She was a member of the Pekin Hospital Auxiliary, Pekin Municipal Golf League and Pekin Women's Bowling Association. She had been an avid bowler and golfer. Wilma was a devoted and loving wife, mother and grandmother.
