Willie Joe Parish

Willie Joe Parish, 91, of Manito passed away at 7:45 PM Friday, July 6, 2018 at his home. Joe was born on June 25, 1927 in Lexington, IL to Clarence and Lola (Lyles) Parish. He married Katherine Casada on March 24, 1945 she passed away on June 6, 2015. Also preceding in death are his parents, one daughter, Barbara Barnett and one brother, Charlie Parish. Surviving are: two sons, Danny (Jane) Parish of Hanna City, and Troy (Debra) Parish of Springfield, IL ; five grandchildren, Kim (Derek) Olar andMelissa Barnett, both of Pekin, Matthew Parish of Hanna City, Jacob (Lauren Windisch) Parish, and Brady Parish, both of Springfield; two great grandchildren, Andrew and Damien. Joe attended the Central Life Church in Pekin. He worked at Caterpillar as a security guard for 39 years and 10 months retiring in 1987. He enjoyed fishing, gardening and yardwork, but especially time with family. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM Wednesday, July 11, 2018 at Henderson Funeral Home & Crematory, 2131 Velde Dr., Pekin with Rev. Keith Moore officiating. There will be no visitation. Burial will be in Lakeside Cemetery.
