William S. Wrigley

William S. Wrigley, 87, of Pekin went to be with the Lord at 7:04 PM Friday, March 29, 2019 at UnityPoint Health - Methodist in Peoria. Bill was born on September 1, 1931 in Peoria, IL to Bernard E. and Margaret (Benham) Wrigley. He married Betty Brieher on January 28, 1954. He was preceded in death by his parents, one son, William B. Wrigley, one sister, Marjory Wrigley, two brothers, Bernard E. Wrigley Jr. and Dr. Benham R. Wrigley. Surviving are: his wife, Betty of Pekin; two sons, David (Terry) Wrigley and Jonathan (Joan) Wrigley; one daughter, Dawn (Marc) Wrigley-Berkley; seven grandchildren and three great grandchildren. Bill graduated from Peoria High School in 1949 and attended a number of colleges and universities over many years, finally qualifying for and passing the CPA examination. He spent fifty-five years in Health Care as an Administrator, Auditor and as the Chief Financial Officer of several institutions including Pekin Hospital. He was an inspiration and a friend to all he worked with and met. Memorial services will be 1:00 PM Saturday, April 6, 2019 at First United Methodist Church with Rev. James C. McClarey. Henderson Funeral Home & Crematory is assisting Bill's family with the arrangements. In lieu of Flowers memorial contributions may be made to the First United Methodist Church, 1315 Court St. Pekin, IL 61554.
