William D. "Bill" Tucker

William D. 'Bill' Tucker, 78, of Pekin passed away peacefully at 1:28 AM Sunday, June 5, 2016 at home with his wife and two daughters at his side. Bill was born on December 6, 1937 in Pleasant Plains, IL to Floyd and Thelma (Coffin) Tucker. He married Loretta DuPage on October 25, 1969. She survives. Also surviving are: two daughters, Ann-Marie (Matt) Kirgan and Teresa Adams; three grandsons, Hunter Kirgan who was his little buddy, Matt and Alex Adams; three sons, Tim, Todd and Ted Tucker and eight grandchildren; sisters, Jean (Loren) Douglas and Jan VanHagen; brother-in-law, Dr. Robert Wright; many nieces, nephews and cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents, mother and father-in-law, Denise and Alphonse DuPage, sister-in-laws, Roselyne Cutter and Gloria Wright, brother-in-law, Dr. William Cutter and three nieces. His family moved to Creve Coeur in 1942, he attended Creve Coeur schools and graduated from East Peoria High School in 1956. He completed a 5 year apprenticeship as a plumber and was a 59 year member of Plumbers Local #63. He was founder and owner of Tucker Plumbing, retiring in December 1994. He, Loretta and Ann enjoyed boating on the Illinois River in the 70's and 80's, then snowmobiling in Wisconsin in the 80's and finally fishing in Arkansas in the 90's and 2000's. He also enjoyed golfing. Bill was a faithful member of St. Joseph Catholic Church where a Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:30 AM Thursday, June 9, 2016 with Father Michael Andrejek, Celebrant and Monsignor Tim Nolan concelebrating. Visitation will be from 4:00 PM - 7:00 PM Wednesday, June 8 at Henderson Funeral Home & Crematory, 2131 Velde Dr. Pekin. The Rosary will be recited at 7:00 PM. Burial will be in St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery in Pekin. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Joseph School, 300 S. 6th Street, Pekin, IL 61554.
