William R. Struben

William R. Struben, 82, of Pekin passed away at 2:23 PM Tuesday, December 11, 2012 at his home. Bill was born on Oct. 17, 1930 in St. Louis, MO to William H. and Mildred (Roszhart) Struben.He married Helen Marie Seeyle He was preceded in death by his parents and brother, William H. 'Bud' Struben. Surviving is: two sons, Randy Struben of Green Valley and Darryl Struben of Pekin; one daughter, Yvonne (David) Hand of Green Valley; five grandchildren, Ashley (Renae Holmes) Struben, Chelsea Struben, Alyssa, Derek and Ellery Hand; three great grandchildren, Myles Struben, Ryleigh and Zaiden Wall; one step grandson, Domanic Holmes; one brother, Dick (Rosemary) Struben of Metamora; two sisters, Carol (Gerald) Burns of Peoria and Marcia Feger of AZ; his companion Penny Deal. Bill was a veteran of the United States Air Force. He enjoyed playing horse shoes, shooting pool and was an avid Cub fan. Funeral services will be at 10:30 AM Friday, December 14, 2012 at Henderson Funeral Home with Rev. Thomas R. Wenndt officiating. Visitation will be from 9:00 AM - 10:30 AM at the funeral home on Friday. Burial will be in Sand Prairie Cemetery near Green Valley.
