William R. "Bill" Schoenbein

William R. 'Bill' Schoenbein, 94, of Pekin passed away at 2:45 pm Wednesday, October 7, 2009 at Pekin Hospital. Bill was born March 20, 1915 in Hanna City, IL to Carl and Fredericka (Reber) Schoenbein. He married Viola M. Everwien on October 4, 1942 in Pekin. She died on November 4, 2001. Also preceding in death are his parents, five brothers and four sisters. Surviving are his sister in law, Doris Schoenbein of Maquon, IL and several nieces and nephews. Bill was employed as a welder for Keystone Steel and Wire Company. Bill retired on March 1, 1978 after 40 years. Bill was a member of Second Reformed Church in Pekin and its Friendship Circle. He enjoyed gardening and feeding the birds. He especially enjoyed playing Dartball with his church friends.
