William Thomas Duncanson

William T. 'Bill' Duncanson, 89, of Pekin, IL passed away at 12:33 AM Wednesday, August 12, 2015 at Rosewood Care of East Peoria. Bill was born on December, 13, 1925 in Pekin, IL to Mark and Florence (Brock) Duncanson. He married Dorothy Miller in June 1948. He later married Helen L. Nichols on January 1, 1990. He was preceded in death by his parents and two sisters. Surviving are: his wife, Helen of Pekin, IL; two sons, W. Thomas (Vera) Duncanson of Champaign, IL and Alan (Juliet) Duncanson of Indianapolis, IN; two step sons, John V. (Christina) Mount of Washington, IL and Steven M. (Glenna) Mount of Havana, IL; one step daughter, Linda Friend of Ypsilanti, MI; three grandchildren, three great grandchildren, three step grandchildren and five step great grandchildren; one step sister, Paloma (Harlan) Dillon of Tremont. Bill was a WWII Veteran of the United States Army Air Force. He was employed by Caterpillar for 28 years, retiring in 1983 as Supervisor at Peoria Proving Grounds. Bill was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Green Valley, a 70 year member of William Schafer Post #44 American Legion and Life / 65 year member of Empire Masonic Lodge #126 A.F. & A.M, Valley of Peoria, Scottish Rite.He served as a scout leader for Boy Scout Troop #181 in Pekin for many years. Funeral services will be at 2:00 PM Saturday, August 15, 2015 at Henderson Funeral Home & Crematory 2131 Velde Dr. Pekin with Rev. Keith Thibo officiating. Visitation will be from 12:30 PM - 2:00 PM at the funeral home. Burial will be in Green Valley Cemetery with military honors provide by the United States Army and the Tazewell Area Ceremonial Team.
