William 'Bill' Collom, 91, of Pekin passed away at 10:04 PM Friday, March 25, 2016 at his home. Bill was born on Mar. 16, 1925 in Batesville, AR to Bentley and Una Mae (Penn) Collom. He married Marjorie Gulon on Nov. 9, 1966. She passed away on May 28, 2004. He was also preceded in death by his stepson, Donald Pettit, one brother, Bob and two sisters, Geraldine and Maxine. Surviving are: two daughters, Martha Diane (Robert) Jorgenson of East Peoria, IL and Donna Woolsey of Florida; two step grandchildren, Michael Pettit and Michelle Piotrowski; four step great grandchildren, Christopher, Crystal, Sabrina and Jillian. Bill was a World War II Veteran of the United States Army. He was a member of William Schafer Post #44 American Legion and Roy L. King Post #1232 VFW.He was a member and worked out of the Plumbers & Pipe Fitters Union.He and his wife, Marjorie operated a roadside fruit stand for several years. He attended Liberty Baptist Church in Pekin. Funeral services will at 10:30 AM on Saturday, April 2, 2016 at Henderson Funeral Home & Crematory 2131 Velde Dr. Pekin with Rev. Roger Lipe officiating. Visitation will be from 9:30 AM - 10:30 AM Saturday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Lakeside Cemetery. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Shriner's Hospitals for Children, 2900 N. Rocky Point Dr. Tampa, FL 33607.
