Wilbert L. Grube

Wilbert L. Grube, 89, of Pekin died at 2:30 am Monday, April 12, 2010 at Pekin Hospital. Wilbert was born July 15, 1920 in Manito, IL to John H. and Christina M. (Graff) Grube. He married Wanda E. Brent on August 14, 1943 in Manito, IL. Preceding in death are his parents, one brother and two grandchildren. Surviving is: his wife, Wanda of Pekin; one daughter, Juanita J. (Robert) Benninger of Creve Coeur, IL; one son, Ronald E. Grube of Pekin; five grandchildren, Melissa Schonert of Pekin, Erica Gilmore of Michigan, Michael Grube of Bartonville, IL, Scott Grube of Pekin, IL and Kelly Painter of Virginia; five great grandchildren. Wilbert was a WW II veteran of the United States Army. He worked at Keystone Steel and Wire for 26 years retiring in 1982. Wilbert was a member and Trustee of the Second Baptist Church in Peoria. He was member of the VFW Post 1232, Friendly Neighbors Club and Goodfellows Club at Keystone. He loved camping, he and his wife, Wanda spent seven winters in Texas camping.
