Wayne Morris

Wayne L. Morris, 92, of Marquette Heights, IL passed away at 11:58 PM Friday, April 13, 2018 at Pekin Manor. Wayne was born March 29, 1926 in Forest City, IL to Leo and Jane (Williamson) Morris.He married Shirley Ann Richardson on January 8, 1949 in Havana, IL.Preceding him in death are his parents; two sisters, Nelda Cichocki & Vera Clark; two brothers, Albert & Russell Morris; son-in-law, Glenn Roberts. God blessed him with two daughters; Marsha Roberts & Connie (Rod) Wamsley of Marquette Heights.God also blessed him with five grandchildren; Melanie (Bradley) Curry of Plainfield; Stacie (David) Moeller of Normal; Scott Roberts of Pekin; Chad (Tara) Wamsley of Bloomington; and Leigh (Chad) Mason of Pekin.God also blessed him with eleven great-grandchildren; Austin and Shelby Curry (Plainfield); Magnus, Bronson and Ayla Moeller (Normal); Caitlin and Scott Roberts (Pekin); Jaden Wamsley and Beaux Mason (Pekin); and Josie and Sofie Wamsley (Bloomington), also two great-great-grandchildren; Zayden and Taniya Roberts (Pekin).Surviving are his wife, Shirley; two sisters, Betty Jane Hall of Kissimmee, FL and Anna Lee Bouslog of Urbana, IL; as well as many nieces and nephews. Wayne was a decorated WWII Army Veteran, and he really enjoyed going on The Honor Flight with his grandson Chad Wamsley.He was a machinist at Caterpillar, retiring after 35 years of service.He was a faithful member of St. Peter's Lutheran Church.He loved spending time with his children, grandchildren, and grand-dog Mollie.We will hold our memories of him in our hearts forever. Funeral services will be at 11:00 AM Wednesday, April 18, 2018, at Henderson Funeral Home & Crematory, 2131 Velde Dr., Pekin with Pastor Kurt Mews officiating.Visitation will be from 9:00 AM - 11:00 AM Wednesday at the funeral home.Burial will be in Glendale Memorial Gardens in Pekin with military honors provided by The United States Army and Tazewell Area Ceremonial Team. Memorials should be directed to The Greater Peoria Honor Flight or St. Peter's Lutheran Church of East Peoria.
