Wayne Aldon Cleer

Wayne Aldon Cleer, 80, of Pekin, IL died at 1:15 pm Thursday, April 8, 2010 at his home. Wayne was born September 1, 1929 in Peoria, IL to Ernest and Ruby (Cadwalader) Cleer. He married Alice M. Streitmatter Lambert on November 28, 1981 in Morton, IL. They enjoyed 28 years of marriage. Surviving is: his wife, Alice of Pekin; four children, Larry (Edna) Cleer of Bradford, IL, Margie Welte of Pekin, Gary (Selena) Cleer of Pekin and Diane (Rich) Middleton of Crofton, MD; two step children, Dennis (Diana) Lambert of Pekin and Brenda (Johnny) Bailey of Hampton, VA; 16 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren. Wayne was preceded in death by his parents and one infant son. Wayne attended the First Church of the Nazarene in Pekin. He worked for Caterpillar, Inc. for thirty-three years retiring in 1980. He enjoyed sports and was a Bradley basketball fan. He also raised champion champagne show rabbits for seven decades.
