Warren T. Key

Warren Key, 67 of Pekin, passed away at 5:00 PM, Sunday, November 11, 2018 at Apostolic Christian Restmor in Morton. He was born July 29, 1951 in Peoria to Earl T. and Mary P. (Ekstrum) Key who preceded him in death. He is survived by his high school sweet heart, Cathy McCoy who he married on April 7, 1973 in Pekin; his two precious daughters, Chantelle (Brent) Walker and Shawna Key; three grandchildren, Larson, Lockton and Lincoln, who filled his days with happiness. He was so proud to be their 'Grandpa Snappy.' Also surviving are three sisters, Phyllis (Dan) Toel, Barbara (Kenny) Arnett both of Pekin, and Robin (Craig) Thomas of Bainbridge Island, WA; mother-in-law, Carmen McCoy; Scott and Julie McCoy (brother-in-law & sister-in-law) and several nieces and nephews. Warren graduated from Pekin High in 1969, and then earned a bachelor's degree in Metallurgical Engineering from Iowa State University. He retired from Caterpillar in 2011 with 40 years of service. He was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Pekin. He had many hobbies but his true loves were woodworking, and fishing. His dream was to take his grandsons to the boundary waters one day so they could experience the beauty of the outdoors with him. Warren had a dry sense of humor that was second to none. He didn't do practical jokes often, but when he did they were priceless. The family would like to thank OSF Hospice and AC Restmor for their kind and compassionate ways. An open house celebration of Warren's life with be held from 2:00pm to 4:00pm, Sunday November 18, 2018 at Henderson Funeral Home & Crematory, 2131 Velde Dr, Pekin, casual attire welcome. A private family service will be held.
