Wanda O. Seelye, 80, of Pekin passed away at 6:30 a.m., Wednesday, October 22, 2025, at Carle Health Methodist Hospital in Peoria.

She was born in Pekin to Thomas and Olive (Taylor) Norman on July 21, 1945. She married Wayne Edward “Buck” Seelye Sr. on June 13, 1961, in Pekin. He preceded her in death on April 27, 2005. She was also preceded in death by her parents; two daughters, Corrine Russell and Paula Seelye; five grandchildren, Sebastian, Remedy, Dallas, Ruby, and Cody; and one sister, Alta.

Wanda is survived by her son, Wayne “Pete”(Charitie) Seelye of Pekin; one daughter, Candy Seelye of Thayer, MO; seventeen grandchildren; fifty great-grandchildren; one brother, Terry (Tamela) Norman of Topeka, IL; and one sister, Laura Norman of Decatur, IL.

Wanda enjoyed fishing and traveling. She never met a stranger and was liked by everyone she encountered. She helped raise her grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and many others. Her home was always open to all. Family was most important to her, and she loved them dearly. She worked as a CNA.

A graveside service will be held at 12:00 pm on Thursday, October 30, 2025 at Spring Lake Cemetery, 6779 Townline Rd, Manito, IL, with Pastor Christopher Seelye and Pastor Clay Crook officiating.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to American Lung Association.
