Walter E. Lohmann Sr.

Walter E. Lohmann, 93, of Pekin, IL passed away at 9:47 PM Sunday, October 23, 2022 at home surrounded by his family. Walt was born on August 23, 1929 in Pekin, IL to Edward and Tina (Koobs) Lohmann. He married Ruth Litz in 1949. She passed away in 1957. He married Patricia Adcock on February 27, 1959 in Springfield, IL. He was preceded in death by one infant son, one granddaughter, Erin Houston, one sister, Agnes Fleckenstein, one brother, Dick Lohmann. Surviving are: his wife, Pat of Pekin; four sons, Mike (Sally) Bass of Pekin, Walter (Denise) Lohmann Jr. of Argenta, IL, Larry Lohmann of Pekin and Kevin (Connie) Lohmann of Pekin; one daughter, Kathy (Stan) Lundy of Pekin; eight grandchildren, Mike (Julie) Bass, Jeff (Wendy) Bass, Robbie (Vicki) Bass, Melissa Houston, LeRoy (Melissa) Houston Jr., Katie (Jon) White, Trisha (Will Wolfram) Lohmann, Tom (Savannah) Lohmann; twenty-two great grandchildren and seven great great grandchildren. Walt was a Korean War veteran of the United States Air Force. He then served in the 182nd Tactical Fighter Group, Air National Guard for 35 years, retiring in 1988. Walt was member of Bridgeway Community Church, Pekin Moose Lodge #916, William Schaefer Post #44 American Legion, a Lifetime member of Pekin Boat Club and Past Commadore. He enjoyed boating, camping, RV traveling and was an avid St. Louis Cardinals Fan. Most of all he loved spending time with his family. Funeral services will be at 10:00 AM Friday, October 28, 2022 at Henderson Funeral Home & Crematory with Pastor Max Clark officiating. Visitation will be from 5:00 PM 7:00 PM Thursday at the funeral home. Interment will be in Lakeview Cemetery with military honors provided by the United States Air Force Tazewell Military Rites Team, Patriot Guard. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Childrens Research Hospital.
