Walter James Farrell

Walter James Farrell, 84, of East Peoria, IL formerly of Pekin and Chicago, IL passed away at 11:40 AM Sunday, December 11, 2011 at Rosewood Care Center of East Peoria. Walter was born in Chicago on July 18, 1927 to Walter P. and Katherine L. (Lutzow) Farrell. He was preceded in death by his parents and one sister, Rosemary Terry. Walter lived in Chicago until 1988 when he moved to Pekin. He worked various jobs, retiring form Grants Hospital in 1984 after 21 years. He spent his retirement occasionally traveling. He enjoyed collecting Lionel Trains and memorabilia. He also liked to listen to talking books of all varieties. A Funeral Mass will be at 2:00 PM Thursday, December 15, 2011 at St. Joseph Catholic Church. Monsignor Timothy Nolan will officiate. Visitation will be from 1:00 PM - 1:45 PM Thursday at the church. Burial will be at a later date in All Saints Cemetery in DesPlaines, IL.Arrangements have been entrusted to Henderson Funeral Home, Pekin, IL.
