Virginia L. Gensel

Virginia L. Gensel, 85, of Pekin went to be with her Lord at 5:45 PM Thursday, August 4, 2016 at UnityPoint-Methodist in Peoria surrounded by her husband and five children. Virginia was born July 17, 1931 in Pekin to Charles and Alene (Pickerel) Bailey. She married Robert F. Gensel July 24, 1948 in Pekin. Preceding in death are her parents and one sister, Pearlene Maas. Surviving are: her husband, Bob of Pekin; two sons, Roger S. (Kathy) Gensel of Manito, IL and Mark R. (Toni) Gensel of Pekin; three daughters, Rebecca K. Eitenmiller and Debra L. Schmitt both of Chandler, OK and Ralene M. (Walter) Chave of Pekin; sixteen grandchildren, twenty-three great grandchildren and two great great grandchildren; three brothers, James (Eileen) Bailey of Albuquerque, NM, Harold Bailey and Larry Bailey both of Pekin; one sister, Shirley Bailey of Oxnard, CA. Virginia was a life time member of the Pekin Bible Church. She was a loving and devoted wife and mother who honored our Lord in the life she lived. She will be sorely missed. We will see her again one day. Funeral services will be at 10:30 AM Monday, August 8, 2016 at Henderson Funeral Home & Crematory 2131 Velde Dr. Pekin with Rev. John Hopwood officiating. Visitation will be from 2:00 PM - 4:00 PM Sunday, August 7 at the funeral home. Burial will be in Glendale Memorial Gardens in Pekin. Memorial contributions may be made to Pekin Bible Church.
