Virginia "Ginny" Elkins

Virginia A. 'Ginny' Elkins 85, of Pekin passed away at 2:27 pm Wednesday, June 29, 2016 at Pekin Hospital. Ginny was born December 4, 1930 in Pekin to Sherman and Esther (Woodard) Pollock.She married Richard Elkins on March 22, 1952 in Pekin. He passed away July 5, 2010. She was also preceded in death by her parents, son, Kellie; four brothers and one sister. Ginny is survived by one son, Steve (Pat) Elkins of Indian Rocks Beach, FL; two grandchildren, Marc (Kim) Elkins of Mackinaw, Kim Bruno of Indianapolis, IN; five great grandchildren; and six great-great grandchildren; two sisters, Betty Wiley of Memphis, MO and Olive Olt of Pekin. Ginny was a member of Emmanuel Community Church in Pekin. She loved reading, traveling and her dog 'Truman'. There will be no visitation. Cremation has been accorded with inurnment at Glendale Memorial Gardens at a later date. Henderson Funeral Home & Crematory is assisting Ginny's family with arrangements.
