Veva P. Martin

Veva P. Martin, 82, formerly of Pekin, IL passed away at 4:45 PM Friday, February 14, 2025 at Paddock Ridge Nursing Home in Ocala, FL. Veva was born on July 13, 1942 in Tazewell County, Illinois to Russell and Eleanor B. (Harding) Oats. She married Donald H. Martin on January 30, 1965 in Pekin. He passed away on March 1, 2008. Also preceding in death are her parents and step-father, Charles William Martin. Surviving are: two sons, Wesley C. (Joanie) Martin of Ocala, FL and Bradley S. (Kanyarat) Martin of Tampa, FL; one grandson, Tanner Martin of Ohio; one brother, Larry R. (Colleen) Oats of Wisconsin; nieces and nephews, Nate Oats (Crystal), Andy Oats (Lisa), Betsy (Kipp) Malmanger, Katie (Eddie) Washetas and 12 great nieces and nephews Veva was a member of St. Johns Lutheran Church in Pekin where she had been active for many years including the Secretary of the Voters Assembly, Bell Choir, Fellowship Club and co-chairman of funeral dinners. Funeral services will be at 10:30 AM on Wednesday, February 26, 2025 at St. Johns Lutheran Church with Pastor Daniel Bishop officiating. Visitation will be from 4:00 PM 6:00 PM Tuesday, February 25th at Henderson Funeral Home & Crematory with additional visitation from 9:45 AM 10:15 AM Wednesday, February 26th at the Church. Burial will be in Glendale Memorial Gardens. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Johns Lutheran Church 711 Court St. Pekin, IL 61554.
