Verla Underwood

Verla J. Underwood, 88, Pekin died at 10:32 am Friday, May 14, 2010 at Methodist Medical Center in Peoria. Verla was born on January 23, 1922 in Tremont, IL to Ben and Mary (Wineburner) Grubb. She married Robert Eugene Underwood. He died in July of 1980. Also preceding in death are her parents, one brother Leonard and two sisters, Dorothy and Mary Lois. Surviving is: two daughters, Sally Underwood of Pekin and Kristy (Robert) Reynolds of Pekin; one son, Brad (Collene Boys) Underwood of East Peoria; one grandson, Ryan Underwood; two great grandsons, Parker and Xander Underwood. Verla was of the Methodist faith. She was a professional organist in the Pekin area for many years. She loved to play Scrabble. She enjoyed animals and birds. She loved her great grandsons.
