Van Morrow

Van Morrow, 99, of Pekin passed away at 9:40 AM Thursday, January 12, 2012 at Apostolic Christian Restmor in Morton. Van was born on November 21, 1912 at Fountain Run, Kentucky to Elby Leo and Beadie Ann (Simmons) Bundy. She married Don 'Graham'Morrow on November 16, 1929. He died on December 9, 1986. She was preceded in death by her parents and sister, Roxie Miller. Surviving is her daughter, Nina Underwood of Manito, Illinois, two nephews and one niece. She attended the South Pekin Congregational Church. Van worked at the American Distillery, JC Penney's, Crawford Shoe Store and several other local businesses. She loved working with crafts and quilting and made many beautiful quilts creating her own designs.She was a loving wife and mother, a wonderful cook and a genuine people person. She had a quick wit about her and made friends where ever she went. Funeral services will at 1:00 PM on Monday, January 16, 2011 at Henderson Funeral Home in Pekin. Officiating will be Rev.Dowice Ashley. Visitation will be 11:00 AM - 1:00 PM Monday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Lakeview Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to a charity of the donor's choice.
