Troy Mowrer

Troy Mowrer, 55, of Pekin, IL passed away at 2:38 AM Saturday, August 05, 2017 at his home surrounded by his family. Troy was born on January 4, 1962 in Kansas City, MO to Robert D. and Ann (Rock) Mowrer. His parents preceded him in death. Surviving are: one brother, Robert D. (Beth) Mowrer Jr. of Pekin and one nephew, Colin (Alyssa) Mowrer of Dunlap, IL. Troy grew up in Quincy, IL, graduating from Quincy High School in 1981.He moved to Pekin with his family in 1981 and in 1983 became a resident of Twin Oaks Community Living Center for 33 years before moving home with his family in January of this year.Troy was also a client at the Tazewell County Resource Center for 33 years before retiring in July. Troy was an avid sports fan, a lifelong supporter of the Chicago Cubs and Kansas City Chiefs.He loved spending time with the two dogs in his life, Eli and Eva, bringing a smile to everyone when they were together. Troy had a huge positive impact on his family and friends every day with his great attitude, wit, constant smile and loving demeanor. We are better having known you and you will be deeply missed. Visitation will be from 3:30 until 5:00 PM Thursday, August 10, 2017 at Henderson Funeral Home & Crematory 2131 Velde Dr. Pekin. Private graveside services will be held at Glendale Memorial Gardens at a later time.
