Troy Edwards

Troy Edwards, 35, of Pekin passed away at 3:40 PM Wednesday, April 6, 2016 in the Emergency Department at OSF St. Francis Medical Center in Peoria. Troy was born on August 20, 1980 in Peoria to Ronald Ray and Vickie Sue (Wright) Edwards. He married Heidi Helfers on August 26, 2006. He was preceded in death by his father and grandparents. Surviving are: his wife, Heidi of Pekin; mother, Vickie (Mike Goetze) Edwards of Pekin; step son, Kaleb Bohannan of Pekin; sister, Tracy (Chawn) Spracklen of Manito, IL. Troy was an avid sportsman especially duck and goose hunting. He enjoyed playing golf and loved his hunting trips. Troy graduated from Pekin Community High School in 1999 and was quarterback of the football team. He attended Eastern Michigan University where he was quarterback of the football team. He also played quarterback for the Peoria Pirates. Funeral services will be at 10:30 AM Monday, April 11, 2016 at Henderson Funeral Home & Crematory 2131 Velde Dr. Pekin. Visitation will be from 2:00 PM - 5:00 PM Sunday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Lakeside Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to Manito Chapter of Ducks Unlimited.
