Thomas K. Watson

Thomas K. Watson 55, of Manito, passed away at 8:18 am, Tuesday, June 14, 2011 at Methodist Medical Center in Peoria. Tom was born to Darrell Watson and Marilyn (Meyer)Watson on May 1, 1956 in Smyrna, TN.He married Christy Caulkins October 24, 1981 in Pekin. Tom is survived by his wife Christy; two sons, Cody(Vanessa)Watson and Casey(Melissa Dubois) Watson all of Manito; his mother and step father Marilyn and Wayne Liescheidt of Pekin;paternal grandmother, Lola Myers, of Heyworth, IL;three brothers, James (Anne) Watson ofRiverton, IL , Robert Watson and Daniel(Michelle) Watson both of Pekin; one step brother, Tom (Janice) Liescheidt; one step sister, Nancy (David) Drockelman, both of Pekin; several nieces and nephews. Tom was preceded in death by his father and grandparents. Tom was a 1979 graduate of Southern Illinois University of Carbondale, IL.He was an engineer with Ameren/Cilco last working at Edwards station as a project supervisor.He was President of LaMarsh Creek Drainage District. Past trustee of Forman Fire Dept.Tom was a St. Louis Cardinal fan and an avid hunterand especially enjoyed deer hunting with his boys.He was an active member of St. John's Lutheran Church in Pekin where he served as a trustee, financial secretary and an usher.Tom touched many lives and will be missed by many. Funeral services will be at 11:00 am Saturday, June 18, 2011 at St. John's Lutheran Church.Rev. Mark Miller and Rev. Glenn Niemann will officiate.Visitation will be from 4:00 pm - 7:00 pm Friday, June 17, 2011 at Henderson Funeral Home with additional visitation from 10:00 am - 11:00 am Saturday at his church.Burial will be in Meadow Lawn Cemetery in Manito.
