Theodore "Ted" Dale Sheckler

Theodore "Ted" Dale Sheckler, 29, of Pekin IL passed away at 7:27pm on May 24, 2025. Ted was born the youngest of five sons on September 25, 1995 at Pekin Hospital in Pekin IL alongside his fraternal twin Benjamin "Ben". He was born to parents Monroe and Dorothy "Dodie" Sheckler. His brother Ben proceeded him in death suddenly and unexpectantly on October 20, 2017. Ted deeply missed his twin brother for the remainder of his life and never felt quite the same after losing him. His father also proceeded him in death after a battle with cancer on September 25, 2019 which you may notice was the same date as Ted and Ben's birthday. If you believe in coincidences, which many in Ted's family do not, it is worth noting that Ted passed away one day before the birthday of his father. His close family views this "coincidence" as a sure sign from the Lord Jesus Christ that Ted is in good hands now that he is no longer with us in this world.

Ted's surviving family members are his mother Dorothy who resides in Creve Coeur, IL; brothers Timothy Sheckler of Creve Coeur IL, Stephen (and Amanda Sheckler with their daughter Scarlette Sheckler) of Bartonville, IL as well as Michael Sheckler (along with his wife Ida Eielsen and daughter Kari Sheckler-Eielsen) of Pekin, IL. Ted also had a large group of friends in person and online and will be greatly missed by all who were fortunate enough to have a chance to get to know him.

In life Ted had a genuine quality of kindness about him which was unmistakable. He always strived to resolve conflicts and be someone that was available to listen and do his best to help out those he encountered. He was employed at the time of his death at Amazon located in Pekin, IL where he built a strong network of friends he valued highly among his coworkers.

He was an avid video game enthusiast from a young age and was especially fond of Animal Crossing and Pokmon just to name a couple. He also enjoyed a plethora of television shows and movies, mostly in the comedy genre, where he could be heard laughing often and loudly while watching the programs he favored. Like many of his brothers he also was a fan of professional wrestling, notably the WWE and rarely missed a pay-per view event related to it.

Despite the fact that those close to him are truly saddened by the passing of someone so noticeably bright in a world full of darkness they find comfort knowing they were fortunate enough to be a part of Ted's life during his brief time here on Earth. His family would like to end this memorial to Ted with a reading from the Book of Psalms (ESV): Psalm 133 [1] Behold, how good and pleasant it is when brothers dwell in unity!

Memorial services will be at 6:00 PM Monday, June 2, 2025 at Henderson Funeral Home & Crematory. Visitation will be from 5:00 PM 6:00 PM Monday.

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the family to help with expenses.
