Theodore "Ted" J. Savage

Theodore "Ted" J. Savage, 93, of Pekin, IL passed away at 4:00 AM Tuesday, November, 19, 2024 at The Loft of Eureka. Ted was born on February 21, 1931 in Pekin, IL to Theodore C. and Elizabeth (Abby) Savage. He married Jessimae Johnson on August 21, 1955 in Pekin. He was preceded in death by his parents, four brothers and three sisters. Surviving are: his wife, Jessie of Pekin; two sons, Jeff Savage and Michael Savage both of Pekin; two daughters, Lori (Scott) Munge and Julie (Tom) Draher both of Pekin; four grandchildren, Holly Draher of Chicago, IL, Brian (Courtney) Draher of Pekin, Ryan (Kayla) Munge of Glen Carbon, IL and Michelle Munge of St. Louis, MO; two great grandchildren JT and Addi Draher. Ted was a veteran of the United States Navy serving during the Korean Conflict. He worked at Keystone Steel and Wire Company for 38 years, retiring in 1992. Ted was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church where he sang in the Resurrection Choir and volunteered for the Society of St. Vincent DePaul. He was a 3rd and 4th Degree Knights of Columbus. He was a member of DeMolay International Chevalier Degree. He enjoyed reading and fshing. A Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:30 am on Saturday, November 23, 2024 at St. Joseph Catholic Church with Father Michael Andrejek as Celebrant. Recitation of the Rosary will be at 4:15 PM Friday at Henderson Funeral Home & Crematory followed by the Knights of Columbus Chalice ceremony. Visitation will be from 5:00 PM 7:00 PM Friday at the funeral home. Additional visitation will be 9:30 am 10:15 am Saturday before Mass at the church. Interment will be in Glendale Memorial Gardens with military honors provided by the United States Navy and the Tazewell Area Ceremonial Team.
