Terry J. Von Boeckman

Terry J. Von Boeckman, 71, of Pekin passed away at 11:58 AM Tuesday, December 24, 2013 at his home. Terry was born on December 14, 1942 in Pekin, IL to Carl Hans and Betty (Bandy) Von Boeckman Jr. He married Joan Audriene McClanahan on February 22, 1964 in Pekin, IL. He was preceded in death by his parents, one brother, Robert Von Boeckman Sr., one niece, Jill Marie Hill, one nephew, Randy Von Boeckman and one great niece, Katrina M. Kemper. Surviving are: his wife, Joan of Pekin; two daughters, Diana (George) Petty and Lynette (Joseph) Wolfe both of Pekin; three grandsons, Dalton J. Wolfe, Brenden M. Petty and Caleb N. Petty all of Pekin; mother-in-law, Dorothy McClanahan of Pekin; several nieces and nephews. Terry graduated from St. Joseph Catholic School in 1956 and from Pekin Community High School in 1960. He retired from Williams Bio Energy formerly known as Corn Products and Pekin Energy, with 40 years of service as Maintenance Supervisor.He was a member of the Pioneer Club Terry was member of Pekin Elks Lodge #1271 where he served as a board member for 8 years. While on the board he served on the budget committee and finance committee.He served as a board member for 12 years with the Cerelose Credit Union. He served on the credit, budget, human resources and loan committees. Terry was a Precinct committeeman. He was appointed in 2001 to the Tazewell County Board. He has been re-elected to serve on the Tazewell County Board ever since. While on the board he has served on the following committees; finance, human resources, transportation risk management, executive, M.A.R.E.D., Prairie Rivers R.C. &D., Tri-County Regional Planning Commission and Tazewell Community Services Board. Terry was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church and the Knights of Columbus. Terry loved hunting and fishing but mostly watching his grandsons play hockey, baseball, trap shooting and his favorite, four wheeling.Terry loved to go on trail rides with his family. He loved the traveling team hockey games. Terry never met a stranger. He loved talking and visiting with people. He was always ready to help anyone with anything at any time. A Mass of Christian Burial will be at 11:00 AM Saturday, December 28, 2013 at St. Joseph Catholic Church with Father Michael Andrejek officiating. Visitation will be from 4:00 PM -7:00 PM Friday, December 27 with a Rosary service at 7:15 PM at Henderson Funeral Home & Crematory 2131 Velde Dr. Pekin. Burial will be in St. Joseph Cemetery in Pekin. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Midwest Affiliate.
