Teddy J. Pruitt

Teddy J. Pruitt, 78, of Pekin, IL passed away at 6:20 PM Friday, February 6, 2015 at his home. Teddy was born on November 14, 1936 in Willow Springs, MO to Richard Barney and Edna (Moore) Pruitt. He married Trudy Brandl Carlson on June 30, 1979 in Green Valley, IL He was preceded in death by his parents, one son, Mike Pruitt, one grandson, Cody Schillinger, four brothers, Richard, Rex, Jim and Dean Pruitt and two sisters, Iva Mier and Georgie Gossard. Surviving is: his wife, Trudy of Pekin; three sons, Scott (Audrey) Pruitt of Pekin, Tim (Sabre) Pruitt of Pekin and Dan (Linda) Pruitt of Pekin; two daughters, Treena (John) Kleinman of Pekin and Julie Pruitt of Pekin; two step sons, Claus (Glenda) Carlson of Mapleton, IL and Kevin (Angie) Carlson of Manito, IL; twenty-two grandchildren and fifteen great grandchildren; five sisters, Inez Trowbridge of Kansas City, MO, Sadie (Ronnie)Reeves of Phar, TX, Lorene (Freddie) Thurman of Louisville, KY, Linda Sue (Deon) White of Nixon, MO and Nancy Cheney of Willow Springs, MO; two sister-in-laws, Judy Pruitt of Mountain Grove, MO and Irene Pruitt of Willow Springs, MO; many nieces and nephews. Teddy retired from the foundry at Caterpillar, Inc. in 1999 after 37 years. He was a member of UAW 974. He enjoyed many years of family time at Oak Run going boating, hunting fishing and swimming. He loved to travel and spending winters in Texas. He loved socializing and was a stranger to no one. Memorial services will be at 2:00 PM Wednesday, February 11, 2015 at Henderson Funeral Home & Crematory 2131 Velde Dr. Pekin with Pastor Nate Best officiating. Visitation will be from 1:00 PM - 2:00 PM Wednesday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Green Valley Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society.
