Susan K. Nelson

Susan K. Nelson, 55, of Bartonville, IL passed away with her family by her side at 2:31 PM Friday, May 1, 2015 at OSF St. Francis Medical Center in Peoria. Susan was born December 18, 1959 in Pekin, IL to John F. and Virginia (Patten) Grunloh. She married Roger Nelson on June 24, 2000 at Wharf Harbor Marina in Peoria, IL. Her parents preceded her in death. Surviving are: her husband, Roger of Bartonville; one daughter, Tara (Nathan) Stueve of Aurora, IL; two sons, Ryne (Nicole) Dougherty of Glasford, IL and Jeffrey (Angela) Nelson of Clinton, IL; five grandchildren, Camden and Nicholas Stueve, Matilda and Declan Dougherty and Alexandra Nelson; one brother, John (Linette) Grunloh of Metamora, IL. Susan was a medical transcriptionist at Illinois Cancer Care for twenty years. She last worked on March 27, 2015. She also had her own Ebay store for several years. She enjoyed sewing, knitting, reading, boating, and collecting.She was also an avid animal lover.Her grandchildren were the center of her world. Susan was a member of Wharf Harbor Marina in Peoria and the United States Power Squadron. Funeral services will be 10:30 AM Saturday, May 9, 2015 at Grace United Methodist Church with Rev. Gary Ford officiating. Visitation will be from 5:00 PM - 7:00 PM Friday at Henderson Funeral Home & Crematory in Pekin and from 9:45 - 10:15 Saturday at the church. Burial will be in Lakeside Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to T.A.P.S in Pekin, IL.
