Susan Joy Brown

Susan J. Brown, 65, of Groveland, IL passed away at 1:18 PM on Wednesday, September 12, 2018 at her home with her family by her side. She was born February 15, 1953 to Harold and A. Joy (Anderson) Marlatt in Peoria. She married Darhl G. Brown on July 1, 1977 in Las Vegas. Sue was preceded in death by her father. She is survived by; her mother, Joy of Peoria; her husband, Darhl; one son, Cory (Martha) Brown of Peoria; one grandson and one granddaughter; and two brothers, William (Constance) Marlatt of Clio, MI and Michael Marlatt of Eagle River, WI. Sue graduated from Peoria High School and received her Master's Degree from Illinois State University. She taught at Tazewell Mason County Special Education Association for 38 years retiring in 2009. She was a member of the United Presbyterian Church in Peoria. Sue was a member of the Tazewell County Retired Teachers and Ducks Unlimited Women. She enjoyed playing golf, her flower and vegetable garden, reading and knitting. Visitation for Darhl and Sue will be from 5:00 PM - 7:00 PM Friday, September 21, 2018 at Henderson Funeral Home & Crematory, 2131 Velde Dr., Pekin. Masonic services will be held at 7:00 PM Friday at the funeral home. Graveside services for Darhl and Sue will be at 1:00 PM Saturday, September 22, 2018 at Swan Lake Memory Gardens with Rev.
