Sue Lynn Reining

Sue Lynn Reining, 54 of Pekin, passed away at 1:50 pm, Saturday, June 2, 2018 at UnityPoint Health - Peoria. She was born October 3, 1963 in Peoria to Wayne & Betty (Scott) Weyhrich. She married Brice 'Skipp' Reining on April 5, 1986 at Sand Prairie Lutheran Church, Green Valley, IL; where she was baptized in 1965 and confirmed in 1977. She was preceded in death by her father, mother-in-law, Joyce (Linebaugh) Reining and father in-law, Adrian Brice 'Bud' Reining. Sue is survived by her husband, Skipp; mother, Betty; one daughter, Noelle Elizabeth (Corey) Marron of Tremont, IL; two sons, Brice Anthony Reining, currently serving the United States Navy in San Diego, CA, and Derek Scott Reining of Springfield, IL; three grandchildren, Hanley James Marron, Everett Brice Marron, and Marlowe Sue Marron; two sisters, Jody (Curtis) VanNattan of Green Valley, IL and Cindy (David) Childers of Janesville, WI; one brother, Anthony (Amy) Weyhrich of Fuquay-Varina, NC; and 6 nieces and nephews. She attended Northwoods Community Church. She received her Bachelor's Degree in Education from Illinois State University. Sue taught at Midwest Central Primary School for 33 years and had just retired after the 2017-2018 school year. From a young age Sue knew she wanted to be a teacher.She loved teaching her many students over the years. Most days, after school, you would find Sue volunteering at various school activities; she especially loved cheering on her husband and family members at sporting events.Those who knew Sue, knew that she had a servant's heart and always placed others above herself. She enjoyed her friends, especially playing in her Bunko group. Her greatest treasure was her family, most importantly her grandkids. Her funeral service will be at 10:00 am, Friday, June 8, at Henderson Funeral Home & Crematory, 2131 Velde Dr, Pekin with Rev. Tom Herren officiating. A visitation will be held Thursday, June 7, from 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm. Burial will be in Sand Prairie Cemetery, Green Valley, IL.
