Sue A. Murphy

Sue A. Murphy, 70, of Pekin passed away at 3:45 AM Saturday, October 20, 2018 at UnityPoint Health Pekin. Sue was born on November 22, 1947 in Peoria, Illinois to Richard and Margaret (Gass) Bellamy. She married Larry Murphy in 1988 in Texas. He passed away in 2013. She was also preceded in death by her parents. Surviving are: two daughters, Stephanie (Randy) Shults of Pekin and Teresa (Ali) Amer of Dubai; four grandchildren, Shaun and Yasmine Amer, Brandy and Ryne Schroeder; uncle, Leon Gass of Henry, IL with whom she grew up with and was like a brother to her; many cousins. Sue worked hard most of her life to take care of and raise her two daughters. Sue was a former member of the Eagles Lodge and American Legion Auxiliary. She enjoyed gardening, bingo, crocheting and cooking. She loved spending time and playing games with her family. Memorial services will be at 2:30 PM Friday, October 26, 2018 at Henderson Funeral Home & Crematory 2131 Velde Dr. Pekin with Rev. Jim Hawkins officiating. Visitation will be from 1:00 PM - 2:30 PM Friday at the funeral home. Inurnment will be at Fondulac Cemetery in East Peoria. Memorial contributions may be made to TAPS.
