Sue Ann Mefford

Sue Ann Mefford, 72 of Pekin passed away at 12:58 pm, Wednesday, March 13, 2024 at Carle Health Methodist Hospital in Peoria. She was born to Arthur and Maxine (Baysinger) Mefford in Pekin on March 11, 1952. Sue was preceded in death by her parents, and a nephew, Steve Mefford Jr. She is survived by her brother, Steve (Norma) Mefford Sr. of Pekin; as well as nieces and nephews: Lucas (Robin) Mefford of St. Ann MO, Andrea (Adam) Stokes of Skokie and Amy Mefford of Pekin. Also, great nephews: Nathan and Noah Mefford, Keelan and William Stokes; great nieces: McKenna, Sophie and Stella Mefford; and special friends: Linda and Bob Mace. She also leaves behind her 4-legged friend Sue was a former member of St. Paul Episcopal Church. She worked as a transcriptionist for OSF St. Francis Hospital in Peoria retiring in 2018. She was an avid book reader and a member of several book clubs, discussion groups and a bible study group. She loved to travel, especially to Kentucky where she furthered her love of horses. Her funeral service will be at 11:00 am, Tuesday, March 19, 2024 at Henderson Funeral Home, 2131 Velde Dr, Pekin IL with a visitation one hour before from 10:00 am to 11:00 am also at the funeral home. Cremation will be accorded after the service. Burial will be at a later date in Glendale Memorial Gardens in Pekin. Memorials may be made in Sues name to the Pekin Public Library.
