Steven Hoak

Steven L. Hoak, 67, of Pekin, IL passed away at 8:15 AM Friday, September 30, 2016 at his home. Steve was born on March 27, 1949 in Bloomington, IL to Ted and Florene (Whitehouse) Hoak Jr.He married Nona J. Haberthur on June 23, 1973 in Rock Island, IL. He was preceded in death by his mother. Surviving are: his wife, Nona of Pekin; two sons, Ryan Hoak of Marion, IL and Jeff Hoak of England; his father, Ted Hoak Jr. of Marquette Heights, IL; two brothers, Tra (Patricia) Hoak of Lacoste, TX and Billy (Stephanie) Hoak of Marquette Heights, IL; two sisters, Lilly (Mike) Stone of Security, CO and Debbie (Lowell) Cluck of Glasford, IL. Steve worked at Caterpillar, Inc. as a pipefitter for 36 years retiring in July 1, 2002. He was a member of First United Presbyterian Church, Loyal Order of Moose Lodge #916 and Pekin Ducks Unlimited where he was a committee member. Steve played in the Sunday Morning Baseball League for over 20 years and was in the Sunday Morning League Hall of Honor. He was in the Greater Peoria Sports Hall of Fame. He played Church League Dartball in Pekin and Peoria. He was an avid fisherman and hunter. Funeral services will be at 10:00 AM Wednesday, October 5, 2016 at the First United Presbyterian Church. Visitation will be from 5:00 PM - 7:00 PM Tuesday, Oct 4 at Henderson Funeral Home & Crematory and from 9:30 AM - 10:00 AM Wednesday at the church. Burial will be in Glendale Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions to the American Heart Association or First United Presbyterian Church.
