Havana - Stan W. Chew, 67 of Havana, passed away at 2:42 AM, Sunday, September 11, 2016 at his home. He was born January 17, 1949 to James W. and Ilene (Carter) Chew in Peoria. He married Kristi Adams on May 28, 1999 in Havana, IL.His parents preceded him in death. Stan is survived by his wife, Kristi; step-sons, Cade (Brittany) Adams of Temecula, Ca, Cory (Julie Snider) Adams of Bloomington, IL.; step-grandchildren Urijah and Brielle Adams, brother, Jimmie (Connie) Chew of Missoula, MT.; sister, Patricia (John) Richardson of Jacksonville, IL.; and 17 nieces and nephews. He went to Barber School after high school graduation, and worked, cutting hair in Havana for 3 years. Stan then went to work for Caterpillar, working in the foundry and retired in 1998. After his retirement, he worked for several area farms, helping out with harvest. Stan attended the First Baptist Church in Havana. He enjoyed horses for many years, but eventually gave them up for the joy of Harley Davidson motorcycle riding. He loved traveling and was an avid Chicago Cubs fan. Cremation has been accorded and there will be no services. Memorials may be made to a charity of the donor's choice in Stan's name.
