Shirley J. Pier

Shirley J. Pier, 81, of Pekin passed away at 10:50 pm Sunday, November 2, 2008 at Pekin Hospital. Shirley was born February 8, 1927 in Pekin to Robert and Ruth (Harnish) Thrush. She was preceded in death by her parents, one daughter, Dawn Pier and one brother, Jerome Thrush. Surviving are: two nieces, Marsha (and Barry) Grimes of Pekin and Jyl (and Bob) Waller of Athens, IL; one nephew, Derek (and Susie) Thrush of Folsom, LA; one brother, Ronald A. Thrush of Peoria, IL. Shirley was a wire die maker at Keystone Steel and Wire Co. for 16 years retiring in 1990. She enjoyed reading, puzzles and collecting teddy bears.
