Shirley Margaret Faux

Shirley M. Faux, 66 of Pekin passed away at 5:35 pm, Sunday, December 5, 2021 at UnityPoint Health - Methodist Hospital in Peoria. She was born to Clarence and Lois (Blaschke) Bahlert in Chicago on August 4, 1955. She married Don Faux on February 22, 1989 in Pekin. He survives. Shirley was preceded in death by her father. She is survived by; her mother, Lois; one son Nathan Schilz; one daughter, Christine Schilz and one grandson, Grayson Heid. Shirley was a member of St Joseph Roman Catholic Church in Pekin where she was a member of the parish Altar and Rosary Society and was the Head Sacristan for the church. She also was a member of the Secular Order of Discalced Carmelites of Mary, Mother of the Blessed Sacrament, where she previously served as their Formation Coordinator. Shirley loved her faith, and her church. She never sought the spotlight, but preferred to work quietly, behind the scenes. She served in many ways at the church and will be greatly missed by her family, parish and her Carmelite community. Her Funeral Mass will be at 11:00 am, Thursday, December 9, 2021 at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 303 S. 7th, Pekin with Father Michael Andrejek as celebrant, and Father David Whiteside concelebrating and homilist. Recitation of the Rosary will be at 9:30 am, with a visitation following from 10:00 am to 11:00 am also at the church prior to the Mass. Burial will be in St. Joseph Cemetery in Pekin. Memorials may be made to the St. Joseph Church Building Fund or T.A.P.S.
