Shirley E. Crane

Shirley E. Crane, 80, of Manito passed away at 3:48 pm Monday, August 8, 2016 at OSF Richard Owens Hospice Home Peoria. Shirley was born September 2, 1935 in Springlake Township to Andy and Erma (Hafley) Thomas.She married Philip Wiker December 27, 1952 in Pocahontas, AR. He passed November 6, 2002.She later married Burllen A. 'Bernie' Crane May 19, 2004 he passed away April 19, 2014. She was also preceded in death by her parents, five brothers, and four sisters. Shirley is survived by three sons, Kent (Kelly) Wiker of Pekin, Brian Wiker of Manito, Brent (Paula) Wiker of Spring Grove, IL; two daughters, Veronica 'Dink' Wiker of Waukegan, IL, Connie (Todd) Shelabarger of Manito; fourteen grandchildren; eight great grandchildren; three step grandchildren; one brother James 'Ink' (Della) Thomas of Groveland; one sister Louise (Donald) Collison of Bluff, IL. Shirley worked at Bemis Bag Company and later as a self-employed beautician. She last worked as a bus driver for Rankin School District 98 retiring in 1998. She was a member of the Pekin Chapter of Eastern Star.Shirley's greatest joy was spending time with her family. She enjoyed crocheting, cooking, camping and was an avid reader. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 am Thursday, August 11, 2016 at Henderson Funeral Home & Crematory 2131 Velde Dr., Pekin.Visitation will be from 5:00 pm - 7:00 pm Wednesday, August 10 at the funeral home.Burial will be in Glendale Memorial Gardens.
