Sharlene J. Homerin

Sharlene J. Homerin, 85 of Pekin passed away at 7:41 pm, Sunday, December 18, 2022 at Pekin Manor. She was born in Pekin to Joseph & Angeline (Gianessi) Ozella on September 15, 1937. She married James Homerin in February, 1955 in Pekin. He preceded her in death in November 1988. Sharlene is also preceded in death by; her parents; two sons, Rod & Tony Homerin; granddaughter Jamie Mahan; two brothers, Joe Ozella and infant brother Gerald Ozella; and one sister Dee Elmore. She is survived by; four daughters, Tracy (Carl) Hildebran of Pekin, Angela (Rich Juarez) Bruder of Pekin, Rhonda (Terry) Mahan of Mt Grove, MO, and Alanna (Brad)Loveridge of Aledo, IL; seventeen grandchildren; thirteen great-grandchildren; one great-great granddaughter; and one brother, Gene (Mary Ann) Ozella of Peoria. Sharlene was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Pekin. She began working at eight years old in her parents grocery store. She worked for her dad at Ozella License and Title in Pekin, and later owned and operated S&S Title of Pekin. Shar was a huge Cubs Fan and also rooted for the Bulls. She was an amazing cook, there was not one Italian recipe that she hadnt mastered. She would cook and arrange the weekly Sunday family gatherings with such joy and skill. Her holiday meals were amazing family traditions. Shar was also the master of every slot machine she sat at. Her luck was family famous. Her greatest gift was the love she shared with all around as wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and dear friend. She will be greatly missed by her family. Her Funeral Service will be held at 1:30 pm, Wednesday, December 21, 2022 at Henderson Funeral Home & Crematory, 2131 Velde Dr, Pekin with Deacon Mark Wilder officiating. A visitation will be held one hour prior from 12:30 pm to 1:30 pm also at the funeral home. Burial will be in Lakeside Cemetery in Pekin. Memorials may be made to help the family with funeral expenses in care of Henderson Funeral Home & Crematory.
