Sarah Jean Veerman

Sarah J. Veerman, 89, of Pekin, IL passed away at 7:40 PM Sunday, October 23, 2016 at Pekin Hospital. Sarah was born on July 29, 1927 in Spring Lake Township, Tazewell County, Illinois to Elmore Clyde and Bertha (Hughes) Callaway. She married John Edward Veerman on March 4, 1948 in Pekin. He passed away on August 15, 2007. Also preceding in death are her parents and one brother, Glen Callaway. Surviving are: two daughters, Joyce and Diane Veerman of Pekin; two brothers, Clyde (Lois) Callaway of Manito and Gary (Gloria) Callaway of Pekin; three sisters, Shirley Veerman of Ludington, MI, Donna (Paul) Meeker and Judith (Larry) Whitehouse both of Manito. Sarah was a faithful member of Calvary Baptist Church. Graveside services will be at 11:00 AM Wednesday, October 26, 2016 at Lakeside Cemetery with Pastor Mike McLeod officiating. There will be no visitation. Henderson Funeral Home & Crematory is in charge of the arrangements. Memorial contributions may be made to Calvary Baptist Church, 921 Caroline Street, Pekin, IL 61554.
