Sally Viola Widby

Sally V. Widby, 79, of Pekin passed away at 7:39 PM Thursday, June 28, 2012 at her home. Sally was born on February 28, 1933 in Lebanon, VA to James and Mary Ellen Hess. She married Elmer Widby on February 27, 1964 in Pekin, IL. He passed away on May 9, 2012. Also preceding in death are her parents, two brothers, James and Donald Hess and one sister, Frances Johnson. Surviving are: three sons, David (Kayla)Widby of Fort Worth, TX, John (Cindy) Widby of Milwaukee, WI and Paul (Shani) Widby of Morton, IL; daughter, Ellen Kay Hill of Pekin, IL; thirteen grandchildren, Jay, Jon, Lauryn, Tim, Annemarie, Ryan and Tyler Widby, Trent and Alica Turner and Kyle Hill, Issac Willis, Brian and Chelsea Coffelt; two great grandchildren, Tayton and Kayden Coffelt; one sister, Phyllis (Frank) Calmes of Pekin, Sally was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church since 1964 and the Sassy Lassie Red Hats of Peoria. She volunteered for the American Red Cross Disaster Nursing for several years. She loved to read. Sally was a registered nurse with the Tazewell County Health Department for 26 years retiring in 1998. Memorial services will be at 11:00 AM Thursday, July 5, 2012 at Henderson Funeral Home in Pekin with Pastor Dale Schaeffer officiating. Visitation will be one hour before services on Thursday at the funeral home. Burial of her cremated remains will be Lakeside Cemetery.
