Sally M. Smith

Sally M. Smith, 74 of Pekin passed away at 5:10 pm Saturday, March 2, 2013 at Methodist Medical Center in Peoria. Sally was born February 11, 1939 to Lester and Edith (Ford) Slater.She married Richard Lee Smith Sr. on December 23, 1953.He died November 20, 2004. Sally was also preceded by two grandsons, Ron Lee Smith and Jon Foreman, brothers, Bob and Melvin Slater; sister, Merlena Stockman and longtime best friend, Roberta Gehrig. She is survived by five sons; Richard (Gail) Smith Jr. of Marquette Heights, Robert Smith Sr. of Orrick, MO, Ronald (Kim) Smith of Big Bear Lake, CA, Randy (Penny) Smith and David (Becky) Smith both of Pekin; three sisters, Betty Farris of Canton, Sandy Evans of Joliet, Beverly Hitchcock of Farmington, MO; one brother Jerry Slater of Scottsburg, OR; twenty four grandchildren; twenty four great grandchildren; and life time friend, Barb Wright of Pekin. Sally was an In Home Care Provider.She was a member of Ladies Moose Auxillary and founded TLC Fundraisers. She enjoyed helping people locate missing relatives. Visitation will be Tuesday, March 5, 2013 from 5:00 pm - 7:00 pm at Henderson Funeral Home in Pekin. There will be no funeral service. Cremation has been accorded.
