Ruth Herrman

Ruth Herrman, 91 of Pekin, formerly of Marquette Heights passed away at 6:07 pm Monday, December 8, 2014 at Pekin Manor. Ruth was born November 2, 1923 in Pekin to Henry and Martha (Schmidgall) Schroeder.She married George Herrman Sr. in 1945.He passed away January 8, 1997. She was also preceded in death by her parents; one son, Gene; one sister and one brother. She is survived by one son, George (Darlene) Herrman Jr of East Peoria; one daughter, Gloria (Dana) Dearborn of Marquette Heights; two sisters, Virginia Conner and Johanna Peterson both of Pekin; four grandsons, George, Cary, Ethan and Brock Herrman; three step granddaughters, Sherry Cape, Kay Davidson, Sheila Droze; many great grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. Ruth was an avid golfer and a member of the Fondulac Golf League for many years.She enjoyed bowling and was an avid Cub fan. She was a member of St. Paul United Church of Christ in Pekin. A celebration of life will be held at 11:00 am Saturday, December 13, 2014 at Henderson Funeral Home & Crematory 2131 Velde Dr.with Pastor Brian Byrne officiating.Visitation will be from 10:00 am - 11:00 am prior to service.Burial will be in Springlake Cemetery. The family would like to thank the care givers at Pekin Manor for their love, caringcompassion and allowing Ruth to maintain her dignity.
