Rose Therese Thomas

Rose Therese Thomas, 92 of Pekin passed away at 3:57 am, Saturday, May 16, 2020 at the Villas of Holly Brook & Reflections Memory Care in Pekin. She was born to Martin and Adeline (Dilley) Flanagan on January 15, 1928 in Summerfield, KA. She married George H. Thomas on April 18, 1947 in Fairbury, IL. He preceded her in death on July 5, 1985. Rose was also preceded in death by; her parents; one son, Stephen Thomas; one grandson, Matt Thomas; seven sisters, and one brother. She is survived by; two sons, George (Shirley) Thomas of Fort Myers, FL,James (Maureen) Thomas of Bloomington, IL,; three daughters, JoAnne (Terry) Woiwode of Pekin, Kathleen (Richard) Lofgren of Denver, CO, and Tricia (Greg) Griffith of Hudson, OH; sixteen grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. Rose worked as a department manager at Bergner's retiring in 1989. She was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Pekin, where she was also a member of the Altar & Rosary Society. She was the past Treasurer of Sweet Adeline's, and a member of the League of Woman Voters. She was an avid reader, and enjoyed playing bridge. She was a treasured mom, grandmother, great-grandmother, and dear friend to many. She will be greatly missed. A private Memorial Service will the held at St Joseph Catholic Church in Pekin with Father Michael Andrejek at celebrant. Inurnment will be in St. Joseph Cemetery in Spring Valley, IL.
