Ronald 'Ron' Pitcher, Age 74, of Dahinda, IL passed away peacefully at his home on Sunday, March 25, surrounded by loved ones, after being diagnosed with a rare form of cancer. Born June 12, 1943 in Peoria to Alva and Ann Pitcher. He married Melony Hamilton on June 11, 2005. She survives. He is also survived by three daughters Lynn Middleton, Debbie Haeger, and Tricia (Jim) LeFante; one son, Scott (Cheryl) Pitcher from his first marriage; one daughter Johnna (David) Argleben; one son Todd (Toni) Robinson from his second marriage; three sons Bobby Hamilton, Anthony (Sybil) Chiartano and Larry Ingle from his current marriage. He is also survived by 17 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren, sister Sandy (Billy) Randle; several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, sister Jean Schmeilski, brother-in-law Harold Schmeilski, nephew Sean Bardwell, and his previous wife, Patty Pitcher. A graduate of Manual High School he was a proud member of the undefeated 1960 football team that was inducted into the Greater Peoria Sports Hall of Fame. Ron worked in the hospitality industry for over 20 years, before moving into the home improvement industry at Pitcher Perfect Siding & Windows alongside his son Scott, and last working at Perfect Choice Exteriors. Ron was a caring husband, son, father, grandfather, and a great friend who never knew a stranger. He loved hosting family and friends, and always made everyone feel welcome. Ron loved spending time with his wife Melony at his favorite fishing hole in Oak Run. He was an avid Cubs and Bears fan, loved the mountains of Colorado, and traveling.Ron worked hard and played hard, lived life to the fullest. 'Life is what you celebrate. All of it. Even its end.' A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, March 31st from 1 to 4 at Kelleher's Irish Pub, 619 S.W. Water St, Peoria, IL.
