Ronald D. Hawkins

Ronald D. Hawkins, 71, of Deer Creek, IL passed away at 11:40 AM Tuesday, June 2, 2020 at his home surrounded by his family. He was born on December 25, 1948 to Russell and Thelma (Carter) Hawkins in Indianapolis, Indiana. He married Jane Laesch on March 10, 1990. He was preceded in death by his parents; one son, Chad; and one sister, Janet. He is survived by: his wife, Jane of Deer Creek; three daughters, Ronda (Steve) Perry of Cape Coral, Florida, Markey (Curt) Keefauver of Astoria, IL, Jennifer Marten of Oswego, IL; one step-son, Tim (Rachel) Marten of Lincoln, IL; eight grandchildren, Holly Riggins, Shannon Moody, Blake Hardy, Gavin and Morgan Perry, Kyle, Kelsey and Karina Marten; fourteen great-grandchildren; two sisters, Kim Brady and Felishia Connor. Ron worked at Caterpillar for 34 years. He was a member of Rusty Rockers and UAW Local #974. He enjoyed cars and street rods. Ron loved riding his Harley motorcycles. He restored classic cars and received numerous trophies and awards at classic car shows. Per Ron's request there will be no services. Cremation will be accorded. Henderson Funeral Home & Crematory is assisting Ron's family with arrangements. Memorial contributions may be made to Gigi's Playhouse.
