Ronald H. Garman

Ronald “Ron” H. Garman, 85, of Pekin, IL passed away at 5:30 PM Sunday, January 25, 2026 at Pekin Manor.

Ron was born September 5, 1940 in Pekin to Henry John and Clara Phyliss (Garlish) Garman. He married Victoria Ashworth on June 2, 1963 in Pekin.

Preceding in death are his parents and one brother, Kenneth A. Garman.

Surviving are: his wife, Vicki of Pekin; two daughters, Stacey (George) Melloy of Pekin and Monica (Chad) Arseneau of Pekin; five grandchildren, Isaac (Samantha) Arseneau, Colin (Natasha) Melloy, Elijah Melloy, Paige (Taggart) VanEtten and Sarah Arseneau.

Ron proudly served in the United States Army before beginning a long and distinguished career as a design engineer with Caterpillar Inc., where he dedicated forty years of service before retiring in 2002. He was an active member of Grace United Methodist Church and faithfully participated in the Men’s Bible Study group. Ron was also a longtime member of the Pekin Kiwanis, reflecting his commitment to service and community.

In his free time, he found joy in fishing and meticulously tying his own flies, target shooting, and—most especially—family vacations to Wisconsin, a cherished tradition he upheld for over fifty years. Above all, Ron deeply loved his grandchildren and made it a priority to attend their activities whenever possible, taking great pride in their lives and accomplishments.

Memorial services will be at 11:00 AM Friday, January 30, 2026 at Henderson Funeral Home & Crematory with Rev. Judy Doyle officiating. Visitation will be from 10:00 AM - 11:00 AM Friday, January 30th at the funeral home. Interment will be at Prairie Haven Cemetery in Pekin.
