Ronald Barger

Ronald Charles Barger, 79, of Pekin, IL passed away at 4:20 AM Sunday, June 19, 2022 at Pekin Manor. Ron was born on October 22, 1942 in Pekin to Clyde E. and Lorraine (Carter) Barger. He married Carol L. Vaughn on May 8, 1971 in Pekin. He was preceded in death by his parents and infant son, Aaron E. Barger on May 8, 1975. Surviving are : his wife, Carol of Pekin; one son, Timothy R. Barger of Pekin; one daughter, Varonda (Clint) Morris of Pekin; eleven grandchildren, Matthew Ripper, Noah Ripper, Emily Ripper, Isabella Barger, Wyatt Barger, Cody (Mallory) Morris, Dustin Rasmussen, Tabatha Morris, and Emily Morris all of Pekin, Alexis (Dallas) Phillips of South Pekin and CJ (Deserea) Morris of Altus, OK. Ron was a member of Grace Baptist Church. He was a good Christian man who was a hard working provider for his family. He was a wonderful father and grandfather who loved his family dearly. He was always trying to instill in the kids the importance of honesty and good work ethics. He worked as a Laborer and Electrician at Corn Products for 17 years. Later, he worked at Commonwealth Edison Powerton Plant in Pekin retiring from the coal yard. After retiring, and wanting to keep busy, he went to work for the Pekin Union Mission and Shade Park as the maintenance man. He was a member of the Heart of Illinois GTO Club and was a Life and 52 year member of Empire Lodge #126 Ancient Free and Accepted Masons and a 50 year member of Ancient Accepted Scottish Rite-Valley of Peoria. Rons Funeral Service will be at 11:00 AM, Thursday June 23, 2022 at Henderson Funeral Home & Crematory with Pastor Randy Justice officiating. Visitation will be Wednesday, June 22, 2022 from 5:00 pm 7:00 pm at the funeral home with a Masonic Service at 7:00 pm. Burial will be Lakeside Cemetery in Pekin.
